our process
At Above Media, capturing the vision and objectives of our clients is our first priority. We want to understand their business needs and goals so we can focus on solutions that position them for success. Our documented process provides clients with a structured path to launch their project on time and on budget.
Above Media utilizes a simple four step agile process. In the first phase, insight, we learn about our client’s business and competition, as well as the goals for the project. We take this knowledge into the second phase where we create a blue print to guide us through the rest of the process. This phase includes the schedule, feature prioritization, architecture, and basic wireframes. Once the blue print is complete we move into production and let our developers, designers, copywriters, programmers, and testers turn ideas into tangibles, all while keeping our clients in the loop. For large projects, we split the work into smaller "sprints" so we can be agile, learning from our progress and making adjustments as needed. The final phase of our process is deployment where we activate the project and bring it to life. For web sites, this means moving the site from our staging environment to live servers and providing training, if necessary. For marketing and advertising this means finalizing all efforts and delivering end-products to the appropriate channels.

Above Media is a small but nimble studio located just outside Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA. Our team consists of developers, designers, copywriters, marketers, social media experts, programmers, and engineers all dedicated to the success of our clients.
In 2004, Above Media was started by President and Creative Director, Sean Gonsman. After working for a high-end web development firm in San Francisco, Sean decided to take his knowledge, from projects that included Google, Excite, Ariba, Charles Scwab, and Cisco, and start his own business in Atlanta. In the early years, Sean handled the majority of design and development. As the company grew, his role transitioned to managing projects where he enjoys working with clients on a day-to-day basis to navigate them on their journey.
